What makes ETSU a great choice for students?

"East Tennessee State University constantly and consistently proves itself as a university that is seeking to improve the quality of life for not only its students, but for the people in an ever-expanding region surrounding its location in Johnson City, Tennessee. ETSU students are given the opportunity to pursue a high-quality education and then provided with an abundance of options to give back to the local, national, and global communities. Whether it be ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine that is ranked 8th in the nation for its rural medicine training, the first accredited College of Public Health in the State of Tennessee, or Volunteer ETSU’s commitment to community service in our region, ETSU students are constantly equipped to help improve the quality of life for others that begins right here on our beautiful campus. With all that being said, ETSU makes for a great opportunity for students to not only earn that treasured, high-quality college degree, but also to gain the knowledge and experience needed to be a productive, successful, and caring person stepping out into the global community and workforce."

What makes ETSU a great choice for students?

"Coming to a place where you may not know anyone can be scary, but the faculty, staff and students at ETSU do nothing less than make sure you feel right at home. With small class sizes of about 24 students, you will not have to worry about feeling like another number. ETSU is so unique just in its history and beauty alone. With the upcoming football stadium, performing arts center and the renovation of our student center, you will definitely want to be a part of history being made. ETSU is a family-oriented university and its main goal is student success."

What makes ETSU a great choice for students?

"When I talk with students about their future and what they want to do, I get excited to tell them all the things that make ETSU a great place to be. I have a huge passion for this university. Being able to sit down and talk one-on-one about new majors such as engineering and all of our comprehensive health sciences, or talking to the student that has no idea what they want to do when they get here, is the best part of my job! I love being there for them, helping guide these very important decisions, and letting them know that I always have an open door. I think I have the best job ever and I look forward to each day I am blessed with helping shape the future of our students here at ETSU!"

"If you come to ETSU looking to get involved, to develop leadership skills, to challenge yourself to try new things and learn as much as you can, you will have a tremendous college experience here. Don’t assume you’ll have to spend a lot more on a college with a bigger price tag to get big opportunities. ETSU’s tuition is very competitive given the quality and scope of the academic programs, the promotion of arts and culture, the accessibility of global learning experiences, and the knowledge and passion of faculty and staff.
